Brief description: It’s a chance to learn the basic concepts of programming using modern, effective and powerful tools as Visual studio.

Age restrictions: Available to children from Year 5 and up

Time: Wednesday 15:30 – 16:30

What is programming club?

Today, we cannot imagine our life without gadgets: computers, laptops, iPhones, smart phones, tablets, … To be considered literate we need to know how to use technology in everyday life.

But, can we go one step further? Can we understand the way our gadgets work and use it in our favor? Learning how to code is learning the way computers work and being able to tell them what to do. Learning how to code improves our ability to troubleshoot and creatively find solutions to everyday problems.

Programming is not just writing lots of lines of code, it is also about learning how to solve big problems by breaking them down into smaller pieces.

 

 

What to expect … ?

The intention of this course is to promote computational thinking by introducing basic topics and concepts of programming.

Using modern, effective and powerful tools as Visual studio enables students to quickly assimilate new knowledge by visually creating appearance and writing code behind it. Powerful debugging tools will teach students how to find and correct bugs in code.

 

 

What can you get … ?

Skills gained during this course can further be used in any spheres of interest: Windows applications, Web sites or Web applications, mobile applications.
