Maria, Year 5 Teacher, Primary Coordinator

A native New Yorker, Maria began her teaching career teaching in New York City and has since taught in international schools in Milan,Italy, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Shanghai China before coming to Krakow. Maria is a lover of the visual and fine arts which led her, in 2006 to begin taking workshops with Project Zero at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. There, she participated in learning about Visible Thinking, Artful Thinking, the Good Work Project, and Creating Cultures of Thinking. Maria has since, regularly incorporated Visible Thinking Routines in her teaching practice. 

In 2017 she completed her training as an Instructional Coach for the Visible Thinking online course for classroom educators, administrators and  in K – 12 schools who want to encourage the development of a culture of thinking in their classrooms and schools. 

Maria strives to cultivate students’ thinking skills and dispositions.  

Maria has worked as a volunteer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, bringing her love of art and work as an educator to life outside the classroom and in the museum setting at the Met Kids Family Program. In her free time, she looks forward to exploring the many museums and cultural highlights of Kraków.
