Trip to science museum
Date: 19th May 2017
Years 5 and 6 have learned about animal adaptations and change over time in class and decided to learn from real experiences at the science museum in Krakow. Ms. Aga, our secondary science specialist, arranged a guided tour about the fossils and animals found in Poland that date back to prehistoric times.

International Day

On 12th of May our school celebrated its first International Day. Though the day came and went very quickly, everyone involved were preparing for weeks in advance. Through classroom projects focusing on exotic faraway places we learned about distant and different cultures.

Open Mic Night

The evening included performances from students ranging from Year 1 to 10 as well as parents and teachers.

Trip to the UJ Chemistry Department

Our pupils attended a Cryogenic Show in the Jagiellonian University which introduced them to the history of Karol Olszewski and how he invented a method for liquefying gases.

A Night of Music and Poetry

The Chemistry of Cooking
Date: 18th March 2017
The primary years have been busy completing an IPC unit based on the chemistry of cooking. Students learned about states of matter and chemical reactions through baking, freezing, and shaking. The process was not only insightful, but delicious!

Bake Sale

Our first ever Bake Sale took place on Friday, 24th February. It was a huge success, thanks to the many delicious baked goods provided by the parents of the Nursery and Reception children.

International Book Day

Embassy primary students celebrated World Book Day with a festive rotation of activities, costumes, and book cover designs. Students enjoyed making bookmarks, playing “Book Title Charades,” and storytimes with guest speakers.

Polish School – Próbny Egzamin Gimnazjalny z OPERONEM

W dniach 6 – 8 grudnia uczniowie klasy III gimnazjum wzięli udział w Próbnym Egzaminie Gimnazjalnym organizowanym przez Wydawnictwo OPERON. Egzamin ten miał, jak co roku, zasięg ogólnopolski. Mieliśmy więc okazję sprawdzić jaką wiedzę i umiejętności posiadają w porównaniu z uczniami innych szkół gimnazjalnych.

Big Brother Comes to Embassy International School

On Friday 20th January pupils from LS, yrs 9 and 10 and Marcus from A level were guinea pigs for our first SKYPE workshop. Gareth Trewartha, who has written a memoir called “A Cycle Safari” spoke to us about writing in general and writing a memoir in particular.

Stained Glass Museum Art Trip

Krakow’s Glass Workshop and Museum is a gem of Polish Art Nouveau and also the oldest functioning stained glass studio in Poland. The workshop, located at Krasińskiego 23, still inhabits the original building designed especially for this purpose in 1902.

Yoga @ EIS

Kraków Local History Field Trip

Did you know that when you cross Planty park you are actually crossing an area that in the Medieval era was actually a moat? If not, you can ask any of our local history experts at Embassy School to tell you all about it. On Thursday the 12th of January, a group of students, along with Mr. Jeff and Mr. Roz, took a trip around some of the most distinctly Krakowian monuments of Medieval Kraków.

Congress for Spanish Teachers

Last December our Spanish teacher, Nacho Barrajón, was invited to do a masterclass in Barcelona (How to teach coaches how to coach teachers) in the most important Congress for Spanish Teachers.

Ski Camp Pictures

The children all returned from ski camp in Italy where they enjoyed a week of learning to ski and also had a day trip to Venice. Our intrepid travelers stayed in a very comfortable hotel with a swimming pool and superb food and came back telling us they had a thoroughly good time. Some pictures can now be viewed in our gallery.

Esperanza Day
Date: 15th December 2016
Years 5 and 6 recently read the novel, Esperanza Rising, by Pam Munoz Ryan. As a culmination to the novel study, the kids held an “Esperanza Day.” They planned a great event and invited their Year 1 and 2 book buddies to share in the learning and fun.
