Green Camp Day 4

Date: 6th June 2017

Today, on the 6th of June, we didn’t wake up in our hotel rooms as usual. Instead, we opened our eyes in a wooden shack at the top of the mountains, which we had hiked to yesterday. It has been a very tiring walk, because we have had to carry all our luggage on our backs.


Green Camp Day 3

Today at Green Camp we split into two groups. The first group, (year 4 and up) went on a hiking trip into the mountains where they spent the night. You will hear all about their adventure in tomorrow’s email but there are a few pictures attached to give you an idea of their day.

Lower Secondary – Heart Dissection

Date: 31st May 2017

During their lessons, Lower Secondary pupils have learned about the features of a heart. After absorbing theory, the time came for practice.


“Piszę do Ciebie list”

Date: 29th May 2017

The members of the Polish Club in our school had an opportunity to use their language skills by taking part in a project called “Piszę do Ciebie list”. They were writing letters and postcards to Polish kids who live in Ireland and study in the Polish Supplementary School in Newry. The letters are posted, and now our learners are waiting for an answer.


Pola Nadziei Prize for Yuri Lee

Date: 22nd May 2017

Every year Pola Nadziei (Fields of Hope) raise funds for the St Lazarus Hospice in Nowa Huta. The symbol of their campaign is the daffodil. Every year they have a competition for children to create a piece of art which symbolises the campaign, and hope.


Trip to science museum

Date: 19th May 2017

Years 5 and 6 have learned about animal adaptations and change over time in class and decided to learn from real experiences at the science museum in Krakow. Ms. Aga, our secondary science specialist, arranged a guided tour about the fossils and animals found in Poland that date back to prehistoric times.


International Day

Date: 18th May 2017

On 12th of May our school celebrated its first International Day. Though the day came and went very quickly, everyone involved were preparing for weeks in advance. Through classroom projects focusing on exotic faraway places we learned about distant and different cultures.


Open Mic Night

Date: 8th May 2017

Our recent Embassy Open Mic Night was a big success! 🙂
The evening included performances from students ranging from Year 1 to 10 as well as parents and teachers.


Trip to Amsterdam

Date: 13th April 2017
In early April, Years 4-11 embarked on an exciting learning adventure to Amsterdam. The trip served many purposes that aligned with our classroom learning, such as studying WW2, urban planning/geography, enquiry-based science, and much more. The trip was also a culmination for our students who read The Diary of Anne Frank. We flew to Amsterdam and had 4 days of learning and fun. The following are a few of our adventures:

Trip to the UJ Chemistry Department

Date: 29th March 2017

Our pupils attended a Cryogenic Show in the Jagiellonian University which introduced them to the history of Karol Olszewski and how he invented a method for liquefying gases.


A Night of Music and Poetry

Our amazing pupils had a chance to showcase their talents at our Music and Poetry Salon on the 20th of March.


The Chemistry of Cooking

Date: 18th March 2017

The primary years have been busy completing an IPC unit based on the chemistry of cooking. Students learned about states of matter and chemical reactions through baking, freezing, and shaking. The process was not only insightful, but delicious!


Bake Sale

Date: 16th March 2017

Our first ever Bake Sale took place on Friday, 24th February. It was a huge success, thanks to the many delicious baked goods provided by the parents of the Nursery and Reception children.


International Book Day

Date: 13th March 2017

Embassy primary students celebrated World Book Day with a festive rotation of activities, costumes, and book cover designs. Students enjoyed making bookmarks, playing “Book Title Charades,” and storytimes with guest speakers.


Polish School – Próbny Egzamin Gimnazjalny z OPERONEM

Date: 6th March 2017

W dniach 6 – 8  grudnia uczniowie klasy III gimnazjum wzięli udział w Próbnym Egzaminie Gimnazjalnym organizowanym przez Wydawnictwo OPERON. Egzamin ten miał, jak co roku, zasięg ogólnopolski. Mieliśmy więc okazję sprawdzić jaką wiedzę i umiejętności posiadają w porównaniu z uczniami innych szkół gimnazjalnych.


Big Brother Comes to Embassy International School

On Friday 20th January  pupils from LS, yrs 9 and 10 and Marcus from A level were guinea pigs for our first SKYPE workshop. Gareth Trewartha, who has written a memoir called “A Cycle Safari” spoke to us about writing in general and writing a memoir in particular.


Stained Glass Museum Art Trip

Date: 20th February 2017

Krakow’s Glass Workshop and Museum is a gem of Polish Art Nouveau and also the oldest functioning stained glass studio in Poland. The workshop, located at Krasińskiego 23, still inhabits the original building designed especially for this purpose in 1902.


Winter School with Robotics Club!
