Learning Continued

Message from the Heads

As Heads, we see the top priorities in this period to be:

1    focusing on maintaining curriculum progression

2    maintaining intellectual development

3    adapting and updating our plans to minimise and compensate for any potential longer term educational disruption

4    supporting the maintenance of mental health in our community (avoid overloads, contain, then reduce anxiety)

The major considerations we are taking into account are:

a    getting the right balance of screen time with children
b    minimising support required from parents as much as we can
c    establishing sustainable lesson preparation and delivery practice for teachers

Everyone in our community is now functioning outside of our comfort zone and we are all facing unprecedented change in our lives. We ask that we remember this, from all sides, and support each other with gentle sharing of experiences, and try to avoid explosive moments. Together we can make this a journey of discovery, without denying the fact that this is a challenging time.

We are grateful for all of the constructive, helpful and sincerely offered feedback, which is helping us to better understand exactly what our community needs in technological, scholastic and human terms.

We have decided to bring the Easter break forward. We will break up for the holiday on Wednesday, 8th April (no lessons that day) and the last free day will be Tuesday, 14th April. Lessons will start again on Wednesday, 15th April, hopefully, if the government permits, in the school buildings.
