Our pupils attended a Cryogenic Show in the Jagiellonian University which introduced them to the history of Karol Olszewski and how he invented a method for liquefying gases.
During the show there was a short lecture in English on the history of condensation of gases and cryogenic applications as well as a series of demonstrations showing the unusual properties of substances at low temperatures.
Moreover students had the opportunity to see one of the oldest Chemistry Departments in Poland (which soon will be moved to new buildings).
