Years 5 and 6 have learned about animal adaptations and change over time in class and decided to learn from real experiences at the science museum in Krakow. Ms. Aga, our secondary science specialist, arranged a guided tour about the fossils and animals found in Poland that date back to prehistoric times.
Afterwards, we had a specialized lesson that focused on animal adaptations in amphibians, lizards and reptiles. For example, did you know that an amphibian only has 4 toes on its front legs and 5 on its back legs? Snakes smell with their tongue and can’t hear anything at all- they can only feel vibrations! It was a great hands on experience, especially when we got to meet and touch a frog, a horned lizard and a python.
