“When we celebrate each other’s cultures, we’re not just learning about the world — we’re building a better tomorrow for everyone.”
From the very start, the atmosphere was alive with excitement as pupils, staff, and families proudly joined the parade of nations, each step and smile a symbol of pride in their heritage and respect for others. This memorable celebration took place at the end of May, during the 2024/2025 school year, marking a joyful highlight before the summer break.
The day was also a culinary journey across continents:
- In Primary, pupils brought an array of sweet and savoury treats representing countries such as Mexico, the Philippines, France, India, Hungary, Ukraine, and Argentina and many more.
- In Secondary, tables overflowed with flavours from South Korea — including no fewer than three varieties of homemade kimbap! — alongside dishes from Italy, Slovakia, Turkey, France, and the Czech Republic.
The celebration didn’t stop at food. Pupils enjoyed creative activities organised by our teachers, while the PTA added a special treat which quickly became a favourite with children and adults alike.
To bring the day to a close, everyone gathered on the school pitch to form a living Map of the World. This striking image was more than just a photograph; it was a powerful symbol of our shared connection, global spirit, and commitment to learning from one another.
A heartfelt thank you goes to every parent, teacher, and pupil who contributed to International Day. Together, you helped create lasting memories and inspired futures — showing us that when cultures meet in friendship and respect, something truly extraordinary happens.
