On the evening of 16 December 2025, our school community came together in the beautiful surroundings of Teatr Varieté in Kraków to celebrate the festive season at our much-anticipated Winter Concert. The event showcased the musical talents of pupils from Early Years, Primary, and Years 7–9, all carefully prepared by our dedicated Music Team, with support from teachers across the school.
The concert opened with a warm and thoughtful welcome from our Principal, Mr Kristian Cejka, who greeted families, staff and guests and set the tone for an evening filled with music, reflection and community spirit.
The stage was then joyfully taken over by our Early Years pupils, who instantly captivated the audience. Their performances transformed the theatre into a true musical wonderland, beginning with a vibrant carnival dance full of colour, movement and infectious enthusiasm, followed by lively winter-themed songs. Their confidence and joy on stage were rewarded with delighted applause, creating a wonderfully festive atmosphere from the very start.
One of the most touching moments of the evening came when guests from the orphanage supported by our school community, for the second year in a row, were invited onto the stage. They shared heartfelt words of gratitude, thanking donors for their generosity and continued support. This moment served as a powerful reminder that the Winter Concert is not only about performance, but also about compassion, empathy and giving back.
Our Primary pupils then led the audience through the next part of the programme with a performance that was both surprising and deeply memorable. Alongside singing and dancing, they narrated a Christmas-themed story that beautifully wove together all the musical pieces. Their clear, expressive voices added a storytelling dimension that charmed the audience and highlighted the creativity and confidence of our young performers.
The spotlight later shifted to our Years 7–9 students, who impressed the audience with their musical maturity and confident stage presence. Their performances brought classic songs to life, featuring music by artists such as David Bowie, Coldplay and Shakin’ Stevens, demonstrating how music continues to be a powerful form of expression across age groups.
As the concert drew to a close, our Head of School, Mrs Katarzyna Kotulska, delivered a heartfelt closing speech, sharing Christmas and New Year wishes with the community and reflecting on the achievements of the term. This was followed by a special PTA video, capturing highlights from the first term of the 2025/2026 school year and prompting smiles, laughter and moments of reflection among the audience.
Just when it seemed the evening had offered all its surprises, teachers and staff gathered on stage for a joyful and energetic performance of “Jingle Bell Rock”. The unexpected finale was met with enthusiastic applause and laughter, providing the perfect festive ending to a truly special night.
In addition to the performances, the event featured a charity stand displaying ornaments handmade by our students. The stand raised further donations for the Rupert Mayer Children’s Home, reinforcing the values of kindness, creativity and community that lie at the heart of our school.
The Winter Concert 2025 was more than an artistic showcase — it was a celebration of teamwork, generosity and the shared joy of the festive season. It will undoubtedly remain a cherished memory for pupils, staff and families alike.
