The objective of the GCR Program is to find out about what students and teachers are currently reading, learn a bit more about these books, and to ultimately get more students excited about reading. This idea is modeled after a program launched in the United States with the same name. The program features posters of celebrities and sports stars reading their favorite books. These posters have features stars like Ryan Gosling to sports superstars and even cartoon characters.
The secondary students are having fun with this project, taking turns “catching” students reading and posting a picture of these students reading on our bulletin board in building A. Each time someone is caught, they are entered into a drawing. During our next book fair a name will be drawn and the student picked will receive a book of their choice.
Get lost in a book! And get “caught”! 🙂
